This is a video work about the illusions in near-death experiences, which has two versions, experimental film and video installation.

“Negative” and “Positive” are basic concepts in the ancient Chinese philosophy. In the original meanings, “Negative” means back to the sun, and “Positive” means face to the sun. Like the comparative relation of sun and the globe always changing, the relationship of “Negative” and “Positive” is changing in every second. Sometimes, “Negative” and “Positive” are bipolar, but other times, they can transform into each other.

Today, “Negative” and “Positive” have different meanings in medicine. To some degree, the medicinal meanings of the two words are reversed from their original meanings. “Positive” often denotes some illness. So when people see this word appear on a diagnosis, they won’t feel facing to the sun.

To see light or dark, life or death, just depends on a direction turning. If we all think like this, maybe we won’t feel so panicked when death is approaching.
